“Our Apprentice, Kurt, has taught us valuable new skills – particularly how to utilise social media as a business. He really has a passion for cars, understands the market and how to reach our customer base. It really has been a two way relationship and we would encourage other businesses not to hold back.”

“An Apprenticeship is a really beneficial route and definitely pays off in the long term. Exeter College has helped in every single way, particularly catering for my dyslexia, and my lecturer makes attending College a pleasure!”

The Apprenticeship has gone beyond my expectations. I was worried I would be given mediocre tasks, but I have actually been given a lot of responsibility in my role, where I am planning my own days.”

“I choose hairdressing as I liked the idea of being hands on at work and building friendships with my clientele. The idea of having a desk job didn’t appeal to me.
Learning via an Apprenticeship seemed like the best option, as I find studying full time in a classroom really difficult.”
Laura Hazell, Headstart, Level 3 Hairdressing Apprenticeship

“I’ve always had a passion for sport, health and fitness and so the Personal Training Apprenticeship was an obvious choice for me! When you pick a course that you have a real interest in, it makes learning so much easier. It was really nice to be part of a group of like-minded people who all have similar interests and want to use the course to develop themselves professionally, while applying their new found knowledge in the workplace.
An Apprenticeship is perfect, as I’m able to train alongside my job and earn a wage at the same time.”
Ben Snow, University of Exeter, Level 3 Personal Training Apprenticeship

“Engineering is a fantastic field – it is very broad. Everything we touch in our daily lives involves some form of engineering. You need to have a bit of vision, be creative, able to investigate things, be resourceful and be a great problem solver.
If you are an Engineering employer I think you should consider the Apprenticeship route, as young people have a great deal to offer – they are the next generation of engineers.
Greg, our Apprentice, has made great progress with us and this has been helped by the studies he does at the College. He has had fantastic opportunities using the facilities there and he has transferred this across to making our products.”
Julian Baycock, Technical Director at Robolights
