Careers Advice

We offer all 16-19 year old students the opportunity to book a 1:1 30-minute career advice appointment, these run throughout the year and can be face-to-face or via Teams.

Students can book a careers appointment via their own eILP. Parents/Carers are welcome to come in for any booked appointments. Please remember to visit our college reception to sign in as a visitor.

Our advisers are here to support all current students that wish to apply to university. The team are responsible for the final check of each UCAS application and support our tutors who write the references for applying students.

University Application Process

Year 1:

Summer Term – Students start to investigate options after college. Those applying to university should be working on personal statements, researching courses and universities over the summer. Those applying to Medical/Veterinary/high tariff universities should start their application now.

Year 2:

Autumn Term – Students applying to university should start their UCAS application now.

Spring Term- Students applying to university should apply for Student Finance and Disabled Students Allowance to ensure all funding is in place before students start University.

Are you an ex student (in the last 2 years) and are applying to university? You can access our guide with details how to obtain a reference and link your application to the college by clicking here.

If you were at college longer than 2 years ago or if your previous tutor is no longer at the college/is unable to provide a reference, we would advise that applicants seek out a professional reference from a previous employer.
