Being equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to manage and lead effectively is essential if an individual and their organisation are to succeed. This unit is for learners who want to develop or sharpen their professional edge and enhance personal effectiveness. It focuses on the ways organisations operate, the application of management and leadership approaches and how these can positively impact on own role, lead to improved performance, and support teams, colleagues and customers.

What can the course lead on to?
Learners may also wish to further their ongoing personal and professional development by accessing other CMI qualifications, such as the CMI Level 5 Qualifications in Management and Leadership with the goal of becoming a Chartered Manager.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at Grade C and above although other relevant or prior work experience may also be considered as an alternative. Learners will need to have access to a PC with internet connection to access online resources and complete assignments. CMI application form and interview with CMI tutor required.


All learners attending the course will have access to an online classroom which contains resources to support unit delivery as well as gaining CMI membership allowing them to use the CMI ManagementDirect library of resources.
