Overview

These qualifications are aimed at practising or aspiring managers in positions such as Team Leader, Supervisor, Project Officer, Shift Manager or Foreperson, who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of different management theories and techniques to support with target setting and people management.

Classroom delivery from experienced managers and tutors with activities included throughout to support learners in being able to complete written assignments.

Diploma – 

The Diploma gives you a fully comprehensive bank of the skills and knowledge required to be a manager as part of an organisation, as well as the ability to apply your learning in the context of another organisation or industry sector. The qualification consists of eight units and is aimed at practising or aspiring managers who supervise or manage a team to achieve clearly defined outcomes. They will set and monitor goals and objectives by providing instruction, direction and guidance. Day to day operational and project activities are a key part of their role. It is designed for learners who want to develop or sharpen their professional edge and enhance personal effectiveness.

Certificate – 

The Certificate provides a broad knowledge of skills to help you be more effective in specific management areas, with increased focus on managing teams, individuals and projects. This qualification has been developed to support managers in understanding the foundation of key management principles, the way organisations operate, the nature of teams in the workplace, and how these can be managed to achieve results. This qualification identifies approaches to managing risk and responding to the needs and expectations of stakeholders. The skills a manager will learn, will not only enable them to improve own working practice, but will impact on the achievement of project outcomes.

Award –

This unit is for learners who want to develop or sharpen their professional edge and enhance personal effectiveness. It focuses on the ways organisations operate, the application of management and leadership approaches and how these can positively impact on own role, lead to improved performance, and support teams, colleagues and customers.

Next steps:

Learners may also wish to further their ongoing personal and professional development by accessing other CMI qualifications, such as the CMI Level 5 Qualifications in Management and Leadership with the goal of becoming a Chartered Manager.

 

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at Grade C and above although other relevant or prior work experience may also be considered as an alternative. Learners will need to have access to a PC with internet connection to access online resources and complete assignments. CMI application form and interview with CMI tutor required.

Facilities

All learners attending the course will have access to an online classroom which contains resources to support unit delivery as well as gaining CMI membership allowing them to use the CMI ManagementDirect library of resources.
