Overview

Gateway Qualifications Level 3 Diploma in Software Development is a vocational qualification designed for individuals who aspire to pursue a career in software development. This diploma is suitable for those who have already completed a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area or have relevant industry experience.

The course covers a range of topics related to software development, including programming languages, software development methodologies, database design and development, web development, and mobile application development. The qualification also covers key skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are essential for success in the software development industry.

The Diploma is assessed through a combination of coursework, practical assignments, and written exams. Students will have access to industry-standard software development tools and technologies and will be expected to develop a portfolio of work to showcase their skills to potential employers.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Maths and English Grade 4 or above. An interview will also be conducted as part of the entry requirement.

The Digital and Data Centre is a £10.3million building which opened in July 2021. Complete with digital learning laboratories, state-of-the-art IT suites and interactive seminar spaces, learners have access to cutting edge equipment to help gear them to move directly into industry or further study.
