This Apprenticeship is aimed at HR professionals newly appointed to an HR role and involved in delivering frontline support to HR managers and employees. This standard is also suitable for existing HR staff who’d like to improve their knowledge and understanding of HR. HR Support Apprentices typically provide managers with advice on a wide range of HR issues.
Topics include:
- Business, culture and change in context
- Principles of analytics
- Core behaviours for people professionals
- Essentials of people practice
- Project management
- Personal and professional development
Example job roles include: HR Team Member/HR Assistant/People Services Specialist/People and Culture Associate/Learning and Development Officer.
Apprentices will need to be working towards and achieve the following job role requirements before their end point assessment:
- Providing HR advice
- Handling day to day queries
- Using HR systems to keep records
- Providing the business with relevant HR information
- Working with the business on HR changes
- Working on a range of HR processes, ranging from transactional to relatively complex, from recruitment to retirement
Achieve:
- IFA HR Support Apprenticeship
- End Point Assessment (EPA)
- If required: Functional Skills (English, Maths)
- CIPD Associate Membership
Next steps: Some Apprentices go straight into the industry as a HR Support Worker OR progress onto a Level 5 People Professional Apprenticeship.
- Entry Requirements

Every employer is different and therefore the entry requirements can vary. As a guide, you ideally need GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths. However, we will work with you and provide additional support to help you achieve their requirements, either prior to your Apprenticeship or during the delivery of your programme.
- Facilities

You will study at our Future Skills Centre, which opened in 2021 near Exeter Airport. The centre has free on site parking as well as an on site cafe and a designated study room for adult learners.
