Everything you need to know about Enrolment

We can’t wait to welcome all our new students at enrolment this summer.

But what is enrolment, and why do we do it? Here is everything you need to know about enrolling at Exeter College…

If you’re an applying student and are unsure on your options, following GCSE results day, check out the frequently asked questions.

What is enrolment?

At Exeter College, we use enrolment as a way to support your start to college life. Here, we make sure that you’re on the right track for your future, and we finalise your course choices. We’ll then sign you up as a student and issue you with your Exeter College ID card.

During enrolment, we will check your GCSE results, making sure you’ve achieved the grades you need for your chosen course. If you didn’t get the results you were hoping for, or if you’ve changed your mind about the subject(s) you would like to study with us, we will support you and your choices. We will help you to find a course which suits you and your ambitions.

You will also find out where to go on your first day and what to expect at the start of the term. We will answer any questions that you may have before you begin studying with us.

It is really important you attend your enrolment appointment in order to secure your place at College. If you cannot make your enrolment appointment, let us know as soon as you receive your enrolment pack. Please call us on 01392 400444 or email info@exe-coll.ac.uk.

How do I know if I’m supposed to enrol?

If you’re a school leaver and you have a conditional offer to study with us in September 2022, then you should have received your enrolment letter in the post.

If you haven’t received your enrolment pack by 12th August please get in touch with us today.

Where and when is enrolment?

Enrolment is taking place between the 26th of August and the 2nd of September at our Queen Street sites. Please check our enrolment page for a map of our buildings.

Your enrolment letter should outline the date and time of your appointment. If you can’t make your appointment time, then please call 01392 400444.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

The most important thing is to bring your GCSE results slip. We ask that you also bring your enrolment letter and enrolment checklist, which you should have received in the post. A list of anything else you may need to bring is outlined in your letter.

I didn’t get the grades I need, should I still attend enrolment?

Absolutely – we are here to support you and your studies. If you didn’t get the grades you were hoping for, we will talk you through your options and find a course which suits you and your ambitions.

Can I change courses during enrolment?

Yes – enrolment is all about making sure you’re on the right course for you. If you want to change subject(s), just let us know when you arrive, and we will take you to our advice zone to discuss your options.

Can I bring someone with me?

We want to ensure the safety of all staff and students the best we can. Therefore, we ask that you only bring one person with you to your appointment.

Additionally, we ask that you only attend in person if you are well, with no virus symptoms. Call us on 01390 400444 if you need to make alternative arrangements.

We also request that you do not arrive earlier than 10 minutes before your meeting time as we have limited waiting room capacity.

Can I find out about other services here?

During enrolment, our travel team will be on hand to advise you on our travel pass scheme.

You will also be about to find out about financial support.

You will also be able to speak to our Wellbeing Team, Safeguarding Team, College nurse and Learning Support at enrolment should you need to.

If you have any questions before you leave, just look for someone in blue and we will do our best to help you.

What do I do if I am unable to make my appointment?

It is really important you attend your enrolment appointment in order to secure your place at College.

If you cannot make your enrolment appointment, let us know as soon as you receive your enrolment pack. Please call us on 01392 400444 or email info@exe-coll.ac.uk.
