The course is one day per week over 12 weeks with a coaching and mentoring session to support your professional development. This course is delivered at our Future Skills Centre.

Course dates are:

07-Jan-25 to 25-Mar-25 – Tuesdays (one day per week) – 09.30-16.30 – course code: 80PBCML0/4/2

OR

22-Apr-25 to 01-Jul-25 – Tuesdays (one day per week) – 09.30-16.30 – course code: POPBCML0/4/A

The comprehensive programme will ensure that you emerge from this course armed with the knowledge and skills needed to lead and manage teams with confidence.

The fundamentals of leadership and management will be covered through taught lessons, practical tasks, case study analysis and expert guest speaker input. It offers organisations the opportunity to upskill their staff with future-critical knowledge.

The course includes the achievement of Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 3 Award in Principles of Leadership and Management. Recognised globally for its quality and relevance, the certification brings immense value to your professional profile. By completing this course, you will earn a qualification that will set you apart in the competitive job market and allow you to confidently tackle any leadership and management challenge that comes your way.

In addition to comprehensive course materials, available on demand via virtual learning environment, throughout the duration of the course, learners will also have access to CMI’s learning resources and student membership. During the coaching and mentoring sessions there will be progress reviews, an opportunity to further discuss the content of the programme, as well as focusing on Individual Professional Development, reflecting on skills development and individual target setting, and supporting those applying for a change of job role.

In the final weeks of the programme there will be interview preparation, visiting speaker talks and graduation!

Week 9 ·         Budgeting principles
Week 10 – 11 ·         Change management principles

Week 12 ·         Knowledge check and assignment preparation

·         Plan and prepare a skills plan to enable learner to be successful in the specific field of leadership and management

·         Interview skills and techniques

·         Mock interviews

 

Assessment: CMI Level 3 Award, written assignment completion – certificated by CMI. The course is considered as complete once attendance and bootcamp milestone evidence requirements are fulfilled.

Next steps: On the achievement of the course, learners will be able to confidently perform in a leadership and management role, apply for relevant jobs, progress to higher qualifications and professional membership should they wish so.

Entry Requirements

To apply you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • You are 19 years or over.
  • You have the right to work in the UK.
  • You have lived in the UK or EU/EAA for the last 3 years or have a residency status that makes you exempt from this rule.
  • English skills including written/spoken required with Level 1 being the minimum.
  • You have not completed another Skills Bootcamp in this current financial year.
  • If you are unemployed you are committed to actively seek employment independently and provide evidence of a job interview and job offer within your subject area
  • If you are fully employed, your employer will be asked to pay a contribution. If you are part time employed funding will depend on your circumstances.
  • If you are self-employed you are committed to building your business and provide evidence of a business plan that reflects the knowledge and skills, you have acquired and evidence of engagement with new clients.
  • You are committed to participating in delivery sessions for 12 weeks.
