-
This course is part of the Modular Acceleration Programme (MAP) that enables learners to study modules from a Higher Technical Qualification. More information on the MAP programme can be found here.
In this module, you will apply the contemporary notion of strategy and scenario planning to identify opportunities.
You will develop the skills to support social, economic, cultural and/or environmental transformation(s) in future thinking businesses. Students will actively learn about models of basic business enterprise acumen, such as marketing and media, management, planning, customer relationship management, organisational performance, and growth. There is a focus on the skills required to build networks and to secure the necessary resources for an innovative, entrepreneurial venture. The module will culminate in a presentation of your own original entrepreneurial idea.
Delivery will be face-to-face and consist of a mixture of lectures, seminars and group work. Course delivery and assessment will run over 1 day per week, for 32 weeks. Each day will consist of 3 hours timetabled sessions with the remainder of the day for group work and availability for trips.
The module will comprise two 20 credit units from our FdA Business which is validated by University of Exeter.
The component modules are:
- EXE1009 Contemporary Marketing
- EXE1007 Business, Enterprise and Innovation
There will be 6 assessments including coursework and a practical examination. A digital essay, a poster, a business pitch and evaluation, a presentation with a group, and an individual report. The assessments will be those used for full time learners studying the corresponding module.
If learners fail any assessment, they will have the opportunity to resit over the summer referral period which finishes mid-August 2025.
*Free tuition fees, with nothing for the student to pay. However the funding accessed for MAP will reduce the amount remaining in a future Lifelong Learning Entitlement account.
