This Apprenticeship is for entry-level data specialists or existing employees who are wanting to upskill. These individuals might be working in a Data Administration role or as a Junior Analyst. They might be looking for a career change and break into analytics industry, or looking to future proof their career by keeping up with changing technology.
Topics include:
- Power BI
- Introduction to SQL
- The value of data to your organisation and the role of a Data Technician
- Data types and structures
- Sourcing, extracting, cleaning, formatting and collating data
- Combining and merging data sets
- Data sources and the Data Lifecycle
- Data security and GDPR practise in data management
- Analysing and validating data
- Communicating and presenting results
- Introduction to coding
- Optional: Core Maths
Apprentices will need to be working towards and achieve the following job role requirements before their End Point Assessment (EPA):
- Working with data on a day to day basis
- Collating and preparing data for analysis
- Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Analyse numerical and text data to support business outcomes; gather data from multiple sources as directed and apply legal and ethical principles when manipulating data
Next steps: After completing this Apprenticeship, you could move into a managerial position within your workplace. You could also progress on to the Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship.
- Entry Requirements

Every employer is different and therefore the entry requirements can vary. As a guide, you ideally need GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths. However, we will work with you and provide additional support to help you achieve their requirements, either prior to your Apprenticeship or during the delivery of your programme.

Apprentices have access to all facilities across College. These include the College Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) and the College Gym.
