You will learn to self-critique, analyse and discuss your own work in this engaging class. This is a relaxed, collaborative environment where the exchange of ideas is highly valued. By the end of the course, you’ll have created a substantial body of work and hopefully contribute to a class anthology.

What will you study?

Each week, we delve into a new topic, using a variety of prompts to spark your creativity. Topics include: characterisation, childhood, setting, narrative voice, perspectives, letters, colour, objects, sound, and Christmas. Our sessions feature practical exercises and lively discussions that lead to homework assignments, which are then shared and discussed the following week in our supportive and encouraging group.

Next steps: The course is structured to provide flexible writing opportunities that will meet your needs as your skills develop, so you could return to this course.

Please note, the daytime classes are held at Exeter Community Centre on Wednesdays (dates above).
