What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

This course is aimed at those who have an interest in writing creatively and who might like to explore further how the subject of madness has been presented in literature. Following prompts you will creative your own characters and scenarios. Assessment is informal and carried out as self, peer and tutor evaluation. You will produce homework which will be shared in the group.

What topics will I study?

This is a 3 week course and each session is designed to look at different aspects of this topic. We will be concentrating on character, setting and tone. We will also consider what we think of as the definition of madness – how has it been portrayed over the centuries and to what effect.

What are the entry requirements?

An interest in creative writing and an interest in exploring new topics

What facilities are there?

Learners will be given a college ID badge and have access to all college facilities, including learning centres and computers.
