What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

The Level 2 Certificate in Barbering is aimed at learners who have no previous experience or formal qualifications in barbering. During this course you will develop basic barbering skills required for working within the barber industry. Learners would progress into employment or further their studies by taking other NVQ qualifications.

What topics will I study?

You will study this programme through a range of activities, discussions and practical tasks that will cover the following areas:

 

·         Consultation techniques

·         Cutting men’s hair

·         Styling men’s hair

·         Cutting and styling facial hair

 

What are the entry requirements?

This course is designed for students who have no previous experience or formal qualifications in barbering.

What facilities are there?

The Laurence Building boasts exceptional, industry standard salons with professional equipment, alongside a newly designed showcase ‘Zeal Hair Salon’ with barbering facilities. All student our busy commercial environment and gain assessments on real clients.

What can the course lead on to?

Award in Barbering - Level 3 (City and Guilds).

Are there any additional costs?

All students will need to purchase a barbering kit and uniform.


It is important that you apply and pay for your course at least one week before the course starts to ensure that you will have access to all the facilities and resources in your first week.
Please be aware that there are no car parking facilities at Exeter College city centre sites, but public car parks are available across the city.
