“After many years working in Law, I was given an opportunity to teach Law A Level. This is something the College is sponsoring me through on the CertEd, so that I have a teaching qualification as well.

We learn how important it is to bring active learning into the classroom, and we do a lot of academic reading around that as part of the course but also lots of practical, hands-on microteaching, so we gain day-to-day skills as well.”

“After I completed University I decided I wanted to go into teaching. The Apprenticeship is perfect, as I am now on the career ladder, gaining the experience I need to progress and a good grounding in teaching.
The advantage of doing an Apprenticeship over class-based work is that I am actually working with children and learning through direct experiences. I am lucky as I have also been able to use the specialist skills from my degree within my role, supporting in our Microsoft Academy studio.”
