Overview

In this role you will work with management and delivery teams to advise on statutory health, safety and environmental requirements. You will support the implementation of SHE inspections, manage and implement SHE policies and prepare and maintain records relating to SHE matters. You will deliver training, investigate incidents, analyse data and present findings to the management team.

Topics include:

  • Understanding the moral reasons for good safety, health and environmental working practices and legislation
  • Identifying, evaluating and controlling hazards in the workplace
  • How people think and how their decisions can lead to risk
  • The difference between occupational hygiene, health surveillance and health and wellbeing campaigns
  • How to plan for safety, health and environmental emergencies
  • And you will be able to join the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at TechIOSH level
Entry Requirements

Every employer is different and therefore the entry requirements can vary. As a guide, you ideally need GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths and
in some cases ICT. However, we will work with you and provide additional support to help you achieve their requirements, either prior to your Apprenticeship or during the delivery of your programme.

Facilities

This course is carried out remotely, with no location. However, Apprentices have access to all facilities across College. These include the College Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) and the College Gym.
