This Apprenticeship is aimed at Operational Managers with operational and project responsibilities. An Operations Manager will have responsibility for managing individuals or a team. Operations managers will provide clear, and inclusive leadership and direction relating to their area of responsibility within an organisation. Typically, this involves setting, managing, and monitoring achievement of core objectives that are aligned to the overall strategic objectives of their organisation. In a smaller organisation they are also likely to contribute to the execution and achievement of the strategic objectives.

- Business Continuity Principles
- Project Management
- Learning and development of self and wider team
Example job roles include: Operations Manager/Regional Manager/Divisional Manager/Department Manager/a manager in a specialist setting.
Apprentices will need to be working towards and achieve the following job role requirements before their end point assessment:
- Provides leadership and people management
- Keeps up to date with IT and digital interventions
- Analyses and interprets data to enable decision making for managing objectives and targets
- Manages activities and projects
- Manages stakeholder relationships
- Creates and implements resource plans considering future organisation needs
- Complies with relevant legislation
- Ensures application of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles
- Supports continuous professional development
- Drives the organisation’s sustainability goals
Achieve:
- CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership
- Operations/Departmental Apprenticeship Standard
- End Point Assessment (EPA)
- If required: Functional Skills (English, Maths)
- Chartered Manager status
Next steps: On completion, Apprentices can continue to study the Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship and Level 7 Chartered Senior Leader Masters Apprenticeship
- Entry Requirements

Every employer is different and therefore the entry requirements can vary. As a guide, you ideally need GCSE grade 4 (C) in English and Maths and due to the amount and standard of written work required throughout the course, a grade 4 (C) or higher GSCE or equivalent in English and Maths would be expected. However, we will work with you and provide additional support to help you achieve their requirements, either prior to your Apprenticeship or during the delivery of your programme.

You will study at our Future Skills Centre, which opened in 2021 near Exeter Airport. The centre has free on site parking as well as an on site cafe and a designated study room for adult learners.
