This Apprenticeship is for those who wish to work to maximise the effective use of digital office technologies, productivity software and digital communications. These will include collaborative technologies, and digital information systems.
Topics include:
- Coding and Logic – including scripting, PowerShell, and batch files creation
- Business Processes – including IT Helpdesk, legislation, communication and customer service
Mobile and Operating Systems – including understanding the OS environment, security, encryption, software and disaster recovery - Cloud Services – including cloud fundamentals and theory
- Networking and Architecture – including physical and virtual network setup and configuration, network administration using Active Directory, network security
Apprentices will need to be working towards and achieve the following job role requirements before their End Point Assessment (EPA):
- Provide technical support to customers through a range of communication channels
- Manage their time, prioritising their digital support workflow to meet critical milestones
- Apply relevant policies and legislation appropriate to their role, and follow appropriate escalation procedures
- Undertake basic data analysis utilising appropriate digital technologies
- Maintain security of data by applying the appropriate policies and complying with legislation
- Support continuous improvement activity within the organisation
- Resolve digital issues using the appropriate tools and technologies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage expectations, escalating as appropriate
- Take responsibility for own continuous professional development (CPD) by keeping up to date with technological developments
- Document actions to ensure a clear audit trail and progression of issues
Next steps: From this Level 3 Apprenticeship, you can progress to a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Network Engineering or Cyber Security, or alternatively work full time in an IT/Digital role.
- Entry Requirements

Every employer is different and therefore the entry requirements can vary. As a guide, you will need GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths. However, we will work with you and provide additional support to help you achieve their requirements, either prior to your Apprenticeship or during the delivery of your programme.
- Facilities

You will have access to a Learning Resource Centre (LRC) and the College gym. There is a refectory in the Hele Building.
- Additional Costs

You may incur some costs, for example, textbooks required for the course. However you may find your employer has suitable texts, or you can borrow them from the College Learning Resource Centre.
