This course is aimed at learners who are looking to start a career in the construction industry as a bricklayer.
On this course you will cover:
- Principles of construction
- Building cavity walls
- Constructing basic arches
- Setting out buildings
You will be assessed by online theory test and a synoptic practical assessment covering all units. There is a requirement to undertake some work experience and employer engagement as part of the course.

Next steps: Level 2 Bricklaying will give you the foundation skills to progress onto a Level 2 Apprenticeship in bricklaying. You will begin to develop the skills that you would need to work within the construction industry.
- Entry Requirements

Maths or English at a grade 4. You will be required to study English or Maths alongside your course if you don’t have a 4 in one. For example, if you have a 4 in English and a 3 in Maths, you will need to study Maths alongside your course.

You will need to be equipped with basic stationery for all your sessions. You will need to have your own safety boots – advice will be given at interview.
