Next steps:

Once qualified, students automatically become AAT affiliate members and, with relevant work experience, will qualify for full AAT membership, which will allow them to use the designators letters MAAT after their name. Many students progress on from AAT Level 4 to be ACCA or ACA qualified. This qualification can give students exemptions towards all or parts of the UK’s chartered and certified accountancy qualifications.

Entry Requirements

The AAT does not set any prerequisites for the study of the AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping. However, for the best chance of success, we require students to begin their AAT Level 3 studies with a Level 2 Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification. You will need a Merit grade for AAT Level 2 in Accounting.

Learners also need to have Maths and English GCSE at grade C/4 or equivalent. You will also need basic knowledge of spreadsheets.

Please note: It is important that you apply and pay for your course at least one week before the course starts to ensure that you will have access to all the facilities and resources in your first week. Please be aware that there are no car parking facilities at Exeter College city centre sites, but public car parks are available across the city.
