What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

A large proportion of the course will be out in the workplace where you will be assessed on practical skills and ability to stay on task and complete work given. Also as part of the course you will study in college one day a week working towards a certificate in employability and working towards targets in skills English and Maths.

What are the entry requirements?

This course is for those aged 19-24 years old. This course is for students ranging from Entry Level to Level 2.

You will also need:

  • Independent travel or working towards
  • EHCP (or eligible for)
  • A desire to gain employment 

What facilities are there?

The Guildhall itself is situated in the centre of Exeter offering a prime location to access the local facilities. We have a kitchen to practise independent living skills and a computer suite. Nearby at Victoria House the learning centre is easily accessed by learners attending the course. On the job training will take place at various employers within and around Exeter to include the RD&E hospital and Tesco Exe-Vale Superstore.

What can the course lead on to?

The course aims for interns to progress into employment or volunteering.

Are there any additional costs?

There may be additional travel costs and specific clothing for work placements .
