What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

Our Level 2 Fitness Instructor (gym based) courses are our most popular qualification and are the starting point for a career in the fitness industry. The course will open many doors to employment and offer progression onto roles such as personal trainer and exercise specialist. Fitness instructors are the foundation of the fitness industry and as such they will always be required and subsequently represent a great career opportunity.

What topics will I study?

Part Time (blended learning) fitness instructor course comprises of workshops completing modules/assessments on:

  • Anatomy and Physiology (1 x 60 minute multiple choice examination)
  • Principles of Exercise and Fitness (1 x 60 minute multiple choice examination)
  • Practical delivery (1 x summative practical assessment with your subject)
  • Health and Safety (2 x worksheets) 

What are the entry requirements?

This is a beginner’s course, open to all who have an ambition and desire to work in the fitness industry.

What facilities are there?

College classrooms and Central fitness, (college gym) a fully equipped purpose built fitness centre.

What can the course lead on to?

The course allows for progression on to roles such as personal trainer and exercise specialist.

Are there any additional costs?

None - the course costs £500.00 which includes ACTIVEIQ registration and certification.
