Why you should attend one of our talks at our next Open Event

Every year, Exeter College hosts a number of Open Events that allows prospective students to find out more about life at College. Open Events are open to school leavers, those looking for an Apprenticeship and adult learners interested in professional or degree level courses or leisure courses.

At each Open Event, the College run a Principal’s talk and an A Level talk. There are several of these at each Open Event to ensure that as many people as possible can attend them. Here is why you might be interested in attending one:

Principal’s Talk

The Principal’s talk will be led by either the Principal of Exeter College or one of our Vice Principals. The talk will cover what the College has on offer, why prospective students should choose Exeter College and how the College application process works.

Introduction to A Levels Talk

The A Level talk covers an overview of all of the A Level choices that Exeter College has to offer. The talk will explain how prospective students can choose what they want to do after their GCSEs, how years one and two will look in terms of options, personal development and the support that is available.

Alongside this, the talk will also cover the many academies that are available at College, enrichment activities and opportunities (which come under EXtra), as well as an explanation on the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

The A Level talk will also detail progression routes following A Levels, such as university, degree apprenticeships or higher level courses at College.
