Exwick Sports Hub

The Exwick Sports Hubs is part of a £14m investment in sports developments and facilities at Exeter College to support a four year sport, health and physical activity plan with important local partnerships with Exeter City Council, Devon County Council and local sports clubs.

The new Exwick facilities will include creating a new six changing room sports pavilion that will ensure students and the local sports community will continue to have access to high quality sports facilities in the Exwick area.

Rob Bosworth, Assistant Principal at the college said "Responding to the growth in the number of people choosing sports courses at Exeter College as well as those taking part in sports as part of our enrichment programmes, has become a real priority of the college. We are working closely with local partners to provide high quality facilities for both the students and the local sporting community. Just as we have done with the pioneering partnership at Haven Banks, this approach maximises participation in sport and physical activity for Exeter College without compromising the use of the facilities for wider community sports participation."

With the completion of the Central Fitness Gym at the college's Queen Street site and the day to day management of the Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre built by Devon County Council, the Exwick Sports Hub is the third phase in the ambitious sports plan which also sees work starting on a £6.5m sports hall complex at Queen Street with badminton courts, classrooms and a sports science and rehabilitation laboratory due for completion in 2015.
