Beauty

This advanced qualification will develop knowledge, understanding of advanced anatomy and physiology studies to make informed decisions for face and body treatments. You will develop customer services and communication skills, all of which are highly valued by employers. 

On this course you will: 

• Provide face and body electrotherapy treatments 

• Perform skin and body analysis 

• Provide Swedish massage therapy 

• Provide mechanical massage 

• Study anatomy and physiology for the face and body systems 

• Develop knowledge and understanding of electrical science in relation to advanced beauty therapy treatments 

Assessment: You will be assessed through externally set and externally marked exams and assignments. The Technical Diploma is assessed at the end of the year with one written exam covering all aspects of the qualification and one practical synoptic exam, covering all treatments within one day. 

Choose this course if… you are progressing within the beauty industry and want to cover all of the body and spa therapy skills and knowledge needed to work as a beauty, massage or spa therapist.  

Future Steps: This qualification aims to provide you with a range of specialist practical skills and technical knowledge which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the beauty industry. Alternatively, you may wish to progress to university. 

GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above* 

Plus, you must have successfully completed a Level 2 Beauty Therapy course 

There are five fully equipped beauty clinics and a Spa, providing you with a professional working environment. You will have access to learning resource centres and there is a refectory in the Hele building. There are personal lockers and changing facilities for learners to use whilst they are at college.

You will have access to all the College facilities, including a student restaurant, full media suite, gym and a fully equipped Learning Resource Centre (LRC).
