Everything you need to know for GCSE, Level 1 and 2 results day

Support will be available from 8:00am on Thursday 20 August 2026 to help you understand your options. Whatever the outcome – whether better than expected, or not as positive as you’d hoped – we are here to support you.

When will my results be available?

Thursday 20 August 2026 is the results day for GCSEs, Level 2 and Level 1 courses.

Results will be available online from 8.00am.

Please take the time to read the information below and ensure that you know what to do when it comes to results day.   

Please note that many of the below links will be accessible to current learners only. For parents and guardians, please refer to your recent emails about results for further information.  

Before Results Day

Is there anything I should do before results day?

Ensure you can access your My eILP page by logging on to the system through the Student Hub before results day. If you can’t access the system, you might need to reset your password.

Update your contact details on your My eILP, including your phone number, as we may need to contact you directly on results day.

Just a reminder that your tutor will contact you on the afternoon of Thursday 20th August. If you need support before then, please call, email, or use the live chat on our website on Results Day.

I have tried resetting my password and still can’t log into My eILP, what do I do?

You can unlock your account and reset your password by following the instructions on this page.

I’m a parent and my young person is away. Can I access their results for them?

For legal reasons we are not allowed to release results to anyone except the person who sat the exam/s. Your young person can log on to access their results through their ‘My eILP’.

Accessing Your Results

How do I access my results online?

Results will be available through your ‘My eILP’. from 8.00am on Thursday 20 August.

To access your results, you will need to log-in to your ‘My eILP’. via the student hub. If you are having difficulty logging in you may need to re-set your password, which you can do here.

Where can I see my results – and what information will I see on my results page?

Log in to your a href=”https://mis-stud.exe-coll.ac.uk/myeilp/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>‘My eILP’. page on your results day (check the dates and times above).

Click on the link from your homepage of your a href=”https://mis-stud.exe-coll.ac.uk/myeilp/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>‘My eILP’. and you’ll be taken to a page with your results. You will see the following:

Result: this will be the overall grade you have been awarded for this qualification

Level: this refers to the level of qualification you have been awarded, for example GCSEs are level 2, and vocational qualifications can be level 1or 2.

What support will be available from college if I need it on results day?

We’re here for you. There will be a range of support available on results day and beyond.

For year one and returning students, your first-year tutor will be in touch on the afternoon of Thursday 20 August to discuss your results. During that call they will invite you in for a meeting on the morning of Friday 21 August if any changes to your progression plans are needed. Please keep your phone nearby ready to take their call.

What does my BTEC / Level 2/ Level 1 / GCSE grade mean?

I’m looking for my points score for GCSE English and I can’t see it. How can I access this?

Unfortunately, the points score for this GCSE subjects is not available on your online results slip. If you need this information, please call us on 01392 400555.

Which exam board is my GCSE subject with?

GCSE English – Pearson 2.0

GCSE maths – OCR

GCSE Biology – OCR

Appeals, Re-marks and Re-sits

I believe the awarding body might have marked my paper wrongly, can I ask for a re-mark?

If you wish to request your exam scripts or a review of the marking, please access this webpage where you will find details of all services including, deadlines and fees. Please be aware that you must pay the fees through Wisepay at the time of submitting your request. Alternatively, you can email examsteam@exe-coll.ac.uk for further information and advice.

I would like to enter to sit my GCSE English and/or Maths exams in the autumn series – how do I do this?

If you are returning to college and wish to try to improve your GCSE maths and/or GCSE English grade in the Autumn exam series, your maths/English teacher will work with you to assess if this is right for you. However, you must continue to study maths and/or English if you have not yet achieved a Grade 4 or higher.

If you have left the college, you will need to find an alternative centre that will allow you re-sit your exam as a private candidate.

   

If I choose to sit exams in the autumn series and the resulting grade is lower, which result will stand?

Your best grade will stand.

Progression and Next Steps

I’m a second-year student who has not met the required GCSE English or GCSE maths grades for my university choice. What do I do?

Please check the status of your UCAS application via Track. Many students find alternative courses through the UCAS clearing system which matches you with suitable courses that still have vacancies. Find out about Clearing 2026.

When will I receive my qualification certificates?

Certificates will be issued in November and you will receive notification informing you when and how you will be able to access these.

I’m a current GCSE / Level 2 learner and I don’t know if my grades allow me to progress, what can I do?

Your tutor will contact you, by telephone, on Thursday 21st August. They will talk through your options with you.

Applications and Course Changes

I haven’t applied to Exeter College yet, but I’d like to.

Please click here to apply online or download an application form. Once we have processed your application, the next step will be to attend an interview with a subject specialist at enrolment in early September. We will do our best to accommodate your first-choice course with us, but this will be subject to availability on your chosen course and whether you achieve the course entry requirements. Please note that the final date for online applications is the 27th August at 4pm, after this date we will only be accepting paper applications.

I have applied for an Apprenticeship, but I do not have an employer yet.

If you are an apprenticeship applicant aged under 18, you will have an alternative offer for a full-time course. If you would like to take up this option rather than the apprenticeship offer, please attend your booked full time enrolment slot. If you are unable to make your slot, or have not received one by post, please call 01392 400444 to re-arrange.

What are the GCSE English grade boundaries?

What are the GCSE Math grade boundaries?

I have studied a BTEC qualification at school, what do the grades mean?

BTECs are usually Level 1 or 2 qualifications with grades showing as Pass, Merit, or Distinction at Level 1 or 2 (e.g. L2M = Level 2 Merit). A Level 2 qualification is equivalent to a GCSE. Each application is considered on an individual basis, looking at the student as a whole.

What happens if I miss my grades?

I have applied for a vocational course but did not achieve the grades I need, what should I do?

Please do not worry. Just come along to your booked enrolment appointment. One of the course tutors/subject lecturers will talk you through your options. We offer vocational courses at a range of levels to suit learners of all abilities so we will be able to discuss the most appropriate level for you to begin on during your enrolment appointment.

I have applied for an A Level or IB programme, but I have missed one grade I needed.

Please don’t worry. Just come along to your enrolment appointment. We will discuss your programme of study options with you when you come in. 

I have applied for an A Level or IB programme, but I’ve missed my offer on a number of grades I needed.

Have a look at our online prospectus so that you start to get an idea of what some of the alternatives are. There are also lots of useful resources on the College Advice Team page. If you are unsure and need some help you can call our College Advice Team on 01392 400600 to find out more about your options. Please do not worry, the College have a wide range of courses, and we will have something for you.

I have applied for an Apprenticeship and I have an employer, but I am worried I have not achieved the grades I need.

Appeals and Re-sits

I have applied to the College, but I am planning to appeal one or more of my GCSE results from school, what should I do?

If you wish to appeal your GCSE results you will need to contact your school. They will be able to advise and support you on the GCSE appeals process and whether this is the right option for you. You should still attend your enrolment appointment with us.

I missed out on my GCSE Maths and/or English grade 4 result from school and am considering whether I should enter the resit exams in the autumn term, what should I do?

If your GCSE grades were lower than you were hoping for, we will work with you to find a course that is right for you and your ambitions. Please come along to your enrolment appointment.

If you have not yet achieved a grade 4 or above in Maths or English Language you will study these subjects alongside your college course. If resitting in the autumn term is right for you, we will support you to do this at College.

If I have achieved a grade 4 or higher in GCSE English Literature, but not GCSE English Language, do I have to re-take English Language?

No, if you have GCSE English Literature at grade 4 or higher you can choose not to retake English Language and will not have to study it at College if you do not wish to do so. If you wish to study it with us to improve your grade, we will support you to do so. Please talk to us about this at your enrolment appointment.
