Explore the art of crafting stories from life. This friendly course introduces different forms of life writing, beginning with memoir. Through readings and exercise prompts, you’ll shape your experiences into engaging texts and reflect on memory, identity and voice.

While the focus remains on creativity and expression, learners will also engage in critical reading of published memoirs and short reflective essays. We’ll turn memory into narrative using playful prompts, exercises, and supportive group discussion. Together, we’ll explore what it means to write honestly and compellingly about real life — the joys, the messiness, the unexpected lessons. There’s no pressure to be perfect; instead, we focus on connection, confidence, and creativity.

The elements of nurturing a creative writing practice are also covered.

Suitable for beginners and those looking to develop their writing further.

This course runs for 10 weeks on a Tuesday at 18:30 – 20:30.
