This course provides a refresher in science for those whose GCSE pass is over 5 years old. It is intended to supplement a previous GCSE for students wishing to progress to Access in Science (Biology and Chemistry) or Healthcare.

Overview

To achieve high grades in your Science or Healthcare Access course, you will need a good knowledge of GCSE level chemistry and biology as well as practical skills.

This course is intended to refresh your knowledge of elements and compounds as well as chemical reactions to prepare for the biochemistry units in the Access to HE Diploma in Science or Healthcare.

Within this course you will develop key lab skills and the foundations of knowledge to progress your study of science from Level 2 to Level 3.

Intention to progress to Access to Higher Education Diploma – Science or Healthcare

Facilities

You will have access to new fully equipped laboratories and PCs as well as access to a Learning Resource Centre.

Additional Costs

Safety equipment will be required for Lab work as well as Scientific Calculator such as Casio FX-83GTPLUS.
