University of Plymouth

The University of Exeter
The University of Exeter is ranked 8th in the UK in The Times and The Sunday Times University Guide 2014, and in the top 1% of universities in the world according to The Times Higher Education international rankings. Its students are among the happiest in the UK according to the National Student Survey; Exeter ranked 5th for teaching quality in 2013 among traditional universities, and has been in the top 10 for student satisfaction since the survey was launched. Exeter is also in The Times top 10 research-intensive universities: nearly 90 per cent of research was rated as internationally recognised in the latest Research Assessment Exercise (2008).
In the Faculty of Business and IT we offer the BA (Hons) Leadership and Business Practice, BA (Ord) Business Management programme and the Foundation Degree in Leadership and Management, which are awarded by the University of Exeter. Students are registered at the University of Exeter and so are able to access the University’s library, online resources and sports facilities and to obtain Student Guild membership.
University of St Mark and St John Plymouth
The University of St Mark & St John, Devon’s newest, celebrates its 175th anniversary in 2014, and was awarded University status in the summer of 2013. The institution is building on its reputation as one of Britain’s finest for sport, employability, and teacher training programmes. The University is giving students the chance to progress in their chosen fields, but crucially supporting students with employability skills, and enhancing job market prospects. The University is consistently strong on employability with over 93% of its graduates either in employment or continuing in higher education six months after graduation, making it the 2nd best university for employability in the South West of England.
The Plymouth-based University was ranked 4th in the UK for student satisfaction with teaching quality in The Sunday Times University Guide 2014 and is ranked equal 6th nationally for Student Satisfaction (NSS, 2013). The University of St Mark & St John offers a range of top-up degrees, including a one year BSc Sports Therapy course designed as an ideal progression course for our Foundation Degree and a bespoke BSc (Hons) top-up Coach and Fitness Education. Students also have the opportunity to study top-up years in Applied Outdoor Adventure and Football Coaching and Development.
Kingston University
Much like Exeter College, Kingston University is forward thinking, enterprising and innovative. It is a very successful higher education institution, based in South West London, with a reputation for high-quality teaching that aims to prepare its students for the workplace.
Exeter College works in partnership with Kingston University to deliver the Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering which was developed to support the aviation industry’s growing requirement for licensed aircraft engineers.
BTEC Qualifications
Edexcel, BTEC, EDI and LCCI qualifications come from Pearson, the UK’s largest awarding body. Pearson provides a wide range of qualifications including academic, vocational, occupational and specific programmes for employers. Pearson’s range of HNDs and HNCs have a strong emphasis on developing practical skills alongside specialist knowledge and understanding for the sector. These qualifications are recognised internationally by employers as providing learners with the key concepts and practical skills for direct progression to, or within, employment.
