Overview
This course will develop the fundamental skills and knowledge required to work in the Early Years Sector, preparing you to work with children from birth to 5 years. You will complete a range of units that provide transferable skills as well as gaining valuable work experience. You will study a NCFE CACHE Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry for the Early Years Practitioner qualification.

On this course you will:
- Learn how to support the development of babies and young children, delivering activities and purposeful play opportunities, supporting the needs of those with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Learn how to support the wellbeing of babies and young children, understanding health and safety and care routines.
- Understand your responsibilities as an Early Years Practitioner, including safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Complete one of GCSE Maths, English Language, or Biology if needed
- Undertake at least 250 hours of work placement in an Early Years setting.
- Assessment

Internally assessed assignments and a portfolio and observations to assess competency in the work place. This course confers License to practice at Level 2. Students are required to complete a minimum of 250 hours of work placement in an Early Years setting and will be assessed for competence in the work.
- Entry Requirements

You will need either a GCSE English Language or Maths at grade 4 or above, plus three GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including Maths or English, plus two GCSEs at grade 2 or above.
You will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Progression and careers
On successful completion of the course, including achieving GCSE Maths or English, learners will be able to progress to T Level Education and Early Years or to a Level 3 apprenticeship in Early Years or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. You will also be able to progress directly into employment in the Early Years sector and count in ratio at Level 2 as a qualified Early Years Practitioner. Future roles could include early years practitioner, classroom assistant or pre-school assistant.
