Spanish Next Steps

This course is perfect for those who have completed the beginner ‘Spanish From Scratch‘ course or already have basic Spanish knowledge but aren’t ready for the Intermediate level. You’ll build on your existing skills to handle more challenging everyday situations. Gain confidence in speaking and listening, while continuing to read and write short texts.

This is a one-year course divided into three terms, held on Mondays from 18:30 to 20:30.

What topics will I study?

Part 1 – Autumn Term

• Introduction to the past tense
• Irregular verbs
• Buying clothes
• Direct and indirect pronouns
• Asking for help abroad
• Reading comprehension of small texts
• Dialogues, reading, writing, and listening

Part 2 – Spring Term

• At the restaurant
• WH questions
• Perfect preterite tense
• The body
• Extended use of gustar-type verbs
• At the doctor
• Speaking, reading, writing, and listening exercises

Part 3 – Summer Term

• The imperfect tense
• Por and para
• Hispanic celebrations and festivals
• Music and film genres
• Daily routine in present and past tenses
• Speaking, reading, writing, and listening exercises
