This Level 3 progression course builds on the basic skills of a Level 2 qualification. The skills included are in line with current industry requirements.

You will study practical and theoretical classes which will help you develop a portfolio of evidence for verification. There is some assignment work. Your practical skills are developed on fellow students – once a level of competence is reached, clients are to be used for assessment. You will be assessed practically, theoretically and orally in all areas. Testimonials may be required as evidence in some cases. Complete portfolios are verified and should include log books, assignments, and online papers. There will be externally set end test (on-line) as well as assignment work set throughout the course.

You will study a range of units including:

  • Massage treatments
  • Pre-blended Aromatherapy treatments
  • Facial electro therapy
  • Spa therapy
  • Health and Safety practice
  • Client care
  • Promotion and retail
  • Working with colleagues within the industry

We also teach optional units that reflect industry trends.

Next steps: You may seek employment as a Beauty Therapist in a clinic, Health hydro, Spa, department store or cruise liner.

Entry Requirements

You will need a Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification and a real interest in the industry. A written application as well as an interview is required to gain a place on this course. This course is particularly suitable for those with experience of the workplace. To study this course you will need to have an interest in the beauty and spa industry and the exciting range of treatments available. You should be enthusiastic to learn a variety of advanced practical skills and the associated knowledge, which will develop your employment opportunities within the Beauty and Spa industry.

Facilities

Our well-equipped spa and beauty clinics offer a fantastic learning environment. We also offer an excellent range of holistic treatments. The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) provides all students with access to the internet as well as specialist information.

Additional Costs

You will need a personal kit and uniform (approximate cost £200), full details will be provided at enrolment. We also offer some professional masterclass/workshops and educational visits during the year which may incur an additional fee if you wish to participate in them.

*Be advised the £150 resource fee is in addition to the course fees/concession fee and is to be paid as a separate transaction to the faculty. Details of how to pay will be provided on your first day of lessons.
