Overview

Our T Level programme has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so the content will meet the needs of industry and prepare learners for their career in the construction industry. The T Level course provides the knowledge and experience needed to open the door to highly skilled employment, an apprenticeship or higher-level study at Exeter College or degree level apprenticeship.

Who is this course for?

Choose this course if you have a good understanding of Maths and Science and a keen interest in the construction, surveying, design and civil engineering sectors, especially around design, surveying and planning. It is also a good opportunity to undertake industry placements in the construction industry.

What you will study

On this course you will:

  • Study design, health and safety, sustainability, building technology, law and relationship/ stakeholder management
  • Study specialist occupationally specific content, for example, in surveying and design including civil engineering
  • Undertake an industry placement with an employer to develop skills and behaviours. Your placement will last for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days)
  • Develop your English, Maths and digital skills /CAD
Assessment

Two externally set exams, practical assignments and an employer set project.

Entry Requirements

You will need six GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including English Language and Maths). Learners progressing from a Level 2 course will need a BTEC Level 2 Certificate or equivalent with a good Merit profile, along with English and Maths GCSE at grade 4 or above.

Progression and careers

You can progress directly into skilled employment, university, an apprenticeship or a Higher National Qualification (HNC/ HND) at Exeter College. Potential careers include architecture, building management and surveying, quantity surveying, estates management, civil engineering and building services engineering.
