Overview
Level 2 Business gives you the foundation learning needed whatever route you want to take. This course is designed to engage you in the world of business learning about the business environment, marketing and finance. You will also learn how to manage your own personal finances, work in teams and project management.
This course equips you with a wide range of knowledge, skills, and behaviours to prepare you for the Level 3 Business T Level in Business Management, Marketing or Accounting, or an apprenticeship.

- What you will study

On this course you will:
- Study topics such as entrepreneurship, business organisation, stakeholders and market research, market types and orientation and marketing mix
- Learn about the sources of enterprise funding and business finance and business growth
- Find out what it takes to build successful business teams and manage projects
- Take part in work experience and business visits, as well as initiatives such as interview preparation and practical project management
- Assessment

Depending on the route taken and number of GCSEs alongside, your assessment will be one of the following:
- One externally examined assessment and one non-exam assessment sat as a written task over an assessment window.
- Two externally examined assessments and coursework based assessments such as presentations or practical assignment tasks.
- Entry Requirements

You will need five GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language and Maths. If you don’t have a grade 4 in English and Maths, you will be required to study for this alongside your course. You will also have an interest in a business related career such as personal assistant or medical secretary, retail or finance.
Progression and careers
You could go on to study a Level 3 course such as the T Level in Business Management, Marketing or Accounting. Or you could apply for an apprenticeship or go into employment in an administration/business-related role.

- Where can this course take me?

This course is designed to support whatever you route you want to take. Many learners progress to a Level 3 programme such as a T Level in Management and Administration, Marketing or Accounting. Other learners have progressed to an apprenticeship or full-time employment. Whatever route you want to take your personal tutor will support your next steps.
- Are there any exams?
-
Yes, you will complete two exams, one being a written exam in marketing and the other being an onscreen test for business finance. These are modular exams so spread out to support your achievement. All other modules are assessed with in class activities and coursework.
- What happens with GCSE resits?

You are able to resit GCSE English language and/or maths alongside this qualification. You will have dedicated lessons each week in these areas to support your resit. You will also have business lessons that embed English and maths skills to further support this.
- Will this give me practical skills and help employability?

Yes absolutely! The course is designed to not only give you knowledge but also experience and build your practical skills and abilities. Employers often ask for experience with many jobs and within this course you will demonstrate how to work as a team on various projects.
