Frequently Asked Questions

Can the course lead to an apprenticeship or employment?

Yes. A key aim of the full-time Bricklaying course is to prepare students for an apprenticeship and employment in the construction industry. Alongside practical skills, we focus on the qualities employers expect, including good attendance, punctuality, communication, teamwork and a positive attitude to work.

How will attendance, behaviour and progress be monitored?

Attendance, punctuality, behaviour and progress are monitored throughout the course. Tutors regularly assess practical and theoretical work and provide feedback on areas for improvement. Where concerns arise, we work with the student and, where appropriate, communicate with parents/carers to address issues early.

What support is available if I am struggling?

Students can access support with their bricklaying skills, theory work, English and maths, wellbeing and personal development. Tutors will identify areas where additional support is needed and help students develop the skills, confidence and independence required to successfully complete their course and progress into the industry.
