For this course you will choose between two pathways: Massage pathway or the Electrotheraphy pathway.
Overview
The Massage pathway qualification will provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to work competently as an advanced beauty therapist specialising in massage.
The Electrotherapy pathway qualification develop knowledge, skills and understanding to work competently as a beauty therapist specialising in advanced face and body treatments.
Who is this course for?
Choose this course if you are progressing within the beauty therapy industry. If you want to learn about all of the body and spa therapy skills and knowledge needed to work as a beauty, massage or spa therapist, select the Massage pathway. If you want to learn about all of the advanced face, body and massage therapy skills to work as a therapist within the industry select the Electrotherapy pathway.
- What you will study

On the Massage pathway you will:
- Provide body massage treatments
- Provide stone therapy treatments
- Provide Indian head massage treatments
- Apply semi-permanent classic lash extensions
- Develop essential skills for promoting sales and products within a business
- Develop an in-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology of the body and be able to apply this knowledge within beauty and spa treatment
- Attend professional workshops and have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications within the industry
On the Electrotherapy pathway you will:
- Provide body massage treatments
- Provide stone therapy treatments
- Provide Indian head massage treatments
- Provide body electrical treatments
- Provide facial electrical treatments
- Provide pre-blended aromatherapy massage treatments
- Develop essential skills for promoting sales and products within a business
- Develop an in-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology of the body and be able to apply this knowledge within beauty treatments
- Assessment

This course is assessed throughout the academic year, by ongoing practical assessments alongside externally set theory exams.
- Entry Requirements

You will need a GCSE English Language at grade 4 or above. Plus, you must have successfully completed a Level 2 Beauty Therapy course.
- Additional Costs

You will need to purchase a personal kit and uniform.You are responsible for providing your own working resources.
Progression and careers
Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that you have the skills and knowledge necessary to be employed as a beauty, massage or spa therapist in a beauty clinic, salon, spa, cruise ship or leisure centre.
