The JAx Journalism Academy brings together in one place the people, skills, resources and contacts you need to make it as a journalist.
Supported by Pearson UK, it involves giving you the chance to work on published papers and magazines and access masterclasses from broadcasters and writers. The JAx Journalism Academy is open to any student, on any course across the college.
Who can apply?
Any student at Exeter College on any course. You don’t need to be studying journalism as a course, in fact most current academy members in are from a wide range of other subjects from English, to history, sciences, languages and law.
How to Apply
You can find out more about the Academy at our open events or at your interview. To apply, complete the application form with your details and a statement about why you want to join the Academy. Send this in to the college along with one example of your own written work. You can apply for the Academy at the same time as you apply for your course at Exeter College or once you have started, but applications must be in within the first two weeks of term.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview for the Academy and you will find out if you have been successful at the beginning of term.
There is a small charge for students accepted on the Journalism Academy.
