What topics will I study?

  • Still life group in chalk and charcoal. Window framing view box
  • Composition work measurement and proportion – still life
  • Perspective – simple basic studies. Introduction to acrylic and oil paint
  • Painting landscapes and buildings. Colour mixing – tonal study
  • Painting study – objects using reduced colour palette
  • Tree study – using gouache/acrylics/oil and palette knife. Studying light and shade
  • Tone study monochrome – old shoe/boot creating form with tone
  • Sky and water – paint study wax and scraffito
  • Picture finishing – waxing, varnishes and framing techniques

Entry Requirements

Some experience of painting and drawing necessary; beginners to oils and acrylics welcome.
