Overview

The IMI Accreditation Light Vehicle Inspection route is intended for technicians whose job role involves the inspection, maintenance and repair of light vehicles.

Inspection Technicians must be able to work unsupervised – ideally, they should be in full time employment with at least 3 years’ experience to ensure they are familiar with the techniques for vehicle servicing, inspection and system(s) diagnosis.

This course comprises of five practical assessments in a round robin format of 60 minutes each which test the competency in carrying out service activities, as well as two online external assessments to demonstrate knowledge.

Entry Requirements

The candidates should be in employment and have at least 3 years’ experience, while there are no entry qualification requirements it is advantageous to hold a Level 2 automotive qualification but not essential.

Self-Financing: No funding available for this course. For fee’s over £150, you can set up an instalment plan to pay over 3 months (50% on the first month, and 25% for the following 2 months)
