Football Business – Extend Option

Please note: This course is one of our Extend Options designed to be combined with other A Level programmes or BTEC Extended Certificate courses to make up a full timetable. If you are planning to study an A Level programme at Exeter College you will need to enrol on a four element programme, and cannot apply for this course on it’s own.

Why do this course?

You should do this course if you have an interest not only in football but would like to know more about the details of what goes on behind the scenes at football clubs. We will tackle a number of different topics in world football which have shaped football into the game and business that it is today.

What will it involve?

The course will involve 13 weeks of tackling processes, problems and topical debates around the football industry. We cover topics ranging from club level considerations, for example the process of player transfers, ethics and wages, right through to large-scale topics such as Financial Fair Play, the role of the media and Saudi Arabia’s investment into football.

How might it help in the future?

This course will act as a great starting platform for learners who are keen to pursue careers within football and football clubs, but will also help to begin, consolidate and contextualise learning around the general world of business.
