- Assessment
-
The programme includes ongoing assessment throughout the apprenticeship, culminating in a formal End-Point Assessment (EPA).
The EPA is a summative assessment carried out by an independent End-Point Assessor from EAL once all on-programme elements have been successfully completed.
Assessment methods include:
- Professional Interview
- Portfolio of Evidence or Logbook
The EPA is designed to assess the knowledge, skills and behaviours developed throughout the apprenticeship and confirm occupational competence.
- Entry requirements
-
Every employer is different and therefore the entry requirements can vary. As a guide, you will need GCSE grade 4 in English and Maths. However, we will work with you and provide additional support to help you achieve their requirements, either prior to your apprenticeship or during the delivery of your programme.
If you are 19 or over, functional skills are not required unless requested by the apprentice’s employer.
Progression and careers
Apprentices will develop the skills and experience needed to take responsibility for engineering activities involving the design, development, manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance and quality assurance of products, equipment and systems. These skills provide a strong foundation for career progression into senior technical, supervisory and specialist engineering positions.
