The Foundation Degree in Business is a 2 year full time programme awarded by the University of Exeter. The course development has been informed by local employers to ensure students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge for the workplace, but also by academic professionals to ensure you are able to successfully progress in your studies to a full degree.
The course has a strong focus on innovation and sustainability in business, with subjects ranging from Business Environment and Finance to Talent Management, Contemporary Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Management and Project and Event Management.
The programme is enriched with a variety of local, national and international visits and students will be given regular opportunities to engage with a range of guest speakers from local and national industries.
All students have access full access to the study and leisure facilities at University of Exeter, as well as the social clubs and student union. There is an emphasis on developing project management and presentation skills, with students taking ownership of planning events, undertaking research and live pitches.
Students who complete this programme have the opportunity to progress onto a Bachelors Degree top-up, such as the BA (ord) Business Management, or alternatively may choose to enter the workplace. The course is well-equipped to develop students who wish to pursue careers in a range of roles including, but not restricted to; Retail Management, Human Resources, Further Education Teaching, Marketing (Social Media Management), Accounts Management and Project Management.
Some students may also wish to use the skills and knowledge developed to start their own small business or enterprise.

You will need 64 UCAS tariff points. GCSE Maths and English is required at grade C (or 4) or above (or equivalent O Level).

The course is delivered in the new Digital and Data Centre, located in the city centre. Complete with digital learning laboratories, state-of-the-art IT suites and interactive seminar spaces, learners have access to cutting edge equipment to help prepare them for their next steps. The Foundation Degree thrives on the links and interaction with the local business community.
You will have access to a Learning Resource Centre (LRC) both at Exeter College and at the University of Exeter.
