This apprenticeship develops the skills needed to identify and implement automation and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions that improve productivity, reduce costs, and simplify everyday work processes. Apprentices will learn how to identify opportunities where digital tools can make tasks more efficient and support teams in working more effectively.

Skills covered on the programme include evaluating different tools and technologies, as well as designing and building solutions using low- or no-code platforms. Apprentices will also work alongside technical specialists on more complex digital or AI implementations. The course also focuses on the people side of digital change. Apprentices will learn how to run workshops, produce guidance and documentation, and support colleagues through training and change management to help new technologies be adopted successfully.

Throughout the programme, apprentices will monitor the impact of digital solutions, refine them where needed, and report outcomes to stakeholders. Ethical, secure, and responsible use of AI is embedded throughout, alongside an understanding of emerging technologies and future digital practices.

Topics include:

  • Opportunity Identification & Business Justification
  • Data Systems & Technical Literacy (Non-Coding)
  • Design, Build & Test (Applied Practice)
  • Human-Centred & Responsible Design

Apprentices will need to be working towards and achieve the following job role requirements before their End Point Assessment (EPA):

Next steps:

This Apprenticeship can lead to a wide range of roles in organisations adopting AI and automation to enhance their operations, including business support teams, IT and digital services, creative and marketing departments, and companies implementing workflow or process improvement. You may also choose to continue your studies by progressing into higher-level digital or data qualifications, building on the strong technical foundation developed at Level 4.
