Overview

This course is for young ESOL adults, aged 19-24, whose English skills are not yet at Level 2. The course enables the learners to progress to an Apprenticeship or to GCSE English and Maths or Level 2 ESOL. Learners follow an intensive English Language programme and attain ESOL qualifications at their appropriate level. Learners have the opportunity to study additional qualifications such as Maths and Essential Digital Skills.

Module examples:

  • Term 1: Speaking and Listening qualification
  • Term 2: Reading qualification
  • Term 3: Writing qualification

Next steps: If the learner has passed Level 1 Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening qualification, by the end of the academic year, they can progress to Level 2 Apprenticeships, Level 2 Adult ESOL or Pre-GCSE English/GCSE English course.

If the learner has passed Entry 2 or Entry 3 Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening qualification, by the end of the academic year, they can continue in the Springboard course for an additional year.

Entry Requirements

ESOL learners must be working towards Entry 2 as a minimum.
