Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refresh basic skills, this course welcomes everyone. You’ll begin by crafting a plain or textured ring using provided silver for your initial project. For subsequent projects, additional silver can be purchased separately, depending on your project’s needs and preferences. Come join our course and enjoy exploring the art of silver jewellery making at your own pace.

You will cover:

  • Introduction to various basic tools, equipment and chemicals and how to use them appropriately, safely and effectively
  • Planning basic projects, choosing the appropriate types and quantities to use
  • Basic silver jewellery making techniques and processes including sawing, filing, soldering, cleaning and hand polishing
  • Looking at designs and ordering materials
  • Group discussion, including looking at individuals’ work and sharing ideas and achievements
  • Demonstration of projects and techniques and when required by learners, such as making basic silver findings, texturing and wire work
