This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are resident in the UK and the European Economic Area for the last 3 years. (You must be under 19 on 31st August in the calendar year that you start your course). This course does not affect any statutory benefits that a student is receiving.
This course is 12 weeks long. There is the opportunity to extend for another 12 weeks if appropriate.
This programme is designed to help you boost your confidence and social skills so that you feel able to cope on a full time programme or indeed in the world of work. You will take part in various small group activities, most of them out of the classroom environment to help develop your problem solving and communication skills.
You may have the opportunity to work towards nationally recognised certificates.
This course is portfolio based so all activities you do may be photographed as evidence and witness statements may be completed. There are no exams for this course.

Application is by email only, and entry is subject to interview with one of our teaching team. There are no formal entry requirements although you will need to show at interview that you are committed to attending Exeter College and motivated to improve your skills.

There is a refectory at Hele Road and a Learning Resource Centre nearby.

You will have to pay your travel costs to and from College (a bursary is available for those that may need it).
