Overview

This course is a personal development course for 16-18 year olds that is aimed at students who might find it hard to be in large groups, social situations and are lacking confidence and self-esteem.

On this course you will:

Begin on a one-to-one basis with the New Directions Tutor, where you will set targets to work on over the 12-week period and start to complete a project on a subject area of interest. You will gradually build up the amount of time in college and working with other young people. Taught sessions on topics such as confidence, anxiety, stress management and study skills will help you achieve your goals.

Choose this course if…

  • You find being in a large classroom setting challenging
  • Find working with other people challenging
  • You feel working with a tutor one-to-one and slowly improving your social skills and confidence would benefit you
