Children, Young People and Families Manager – Higher Apprenticeship

A Children, Young People and Families Manager Apprentice will ensure direction, alignment and commitment within their own practice, their team(s), their organisation and across partnerships to help children, young people and families aspire to do their best and achieve sustainable change.

Overview

A Children, Young People and Families Manager Apprentice will ensure direction, alignment and commitment within their own practice, their team(s), their organisation and across partnerships to help children, young people and families aspire to do their best and achieve sustainable change.

Topics include:

  • Understanding how to maintain and develop a leadership style that sets the ethos, aims and approach to work
  • The values and ethics, and the principles and practices of diversity, equality, rights and inclusion
  • Current theories and up-to-date research to understand the practices that underpin practice decision-making
  • Essential safeguarding regulations contained within mandatory local safeguarding training or a nationally accredited equivalent
  • The importance of using evidence based practice and models
  • How to best collaborate with partner agencies and resolve complex issues to achieve best outcomes
  • Building an ethos of learning and continuous improvement across partner organisations

Next steps: Some Apprentices progress straight into employment in the care sector within leadership roles.

Entry Requirements

Maths and English GCSE, grade C/4 (or equivalent). If you do not have these qualifications our team will support you to gain these skills alongside your Apprenticeship.

Facilities

You will have access to a Learning Resource Centre. There is a refectory in the Hele Building.

Additional Costs

Other costs would include the purchase of recommended textbooks. You will need an enhanced DBS check done through your work placement or the college.
