Overview

On this course you will:

  • Use practical, communication and team working skills to increase your business knowledge 
  • Learn about businesses in our local area, how to communicate with customers, how to brand a product and how to create effective business presentations 
  • Gain one week’s work experience 
  • Improve your transferable ICT, English and Maths skills 
  • Understand and develop the skills and qualities necessary to work in these industries

You will be assessed by assignments and coursework, and will need to sit exams for your English and Maths.

This course is ideal if you want to develop a range of skills you can use in the retail, customer service or business sector or progress to further study.

Next steps: On completion of this course, you may be able to progress to a Level 2 course, employment or an Apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

You will need a minimum of a grade 2 in GCSE English Language and Maths. If you don’t have a grade 4 in English and Maths, you will be required to study for this alongside your course. Plus, you will need two additional GCSEs at grade 2 or above, or equivalent. An interest in gaining a job in the retail, customer service or business industry is really important.

Facilities

You will have access to all the College facilities, including a student restaurant, full media suiteand fully equipped Learning Resource Centre.

Additional Costs

A £45 resource fee applies.

The resource fee covers trips and visits, external speakers course material and any additional activities.
