There are no costs associated with taking part in a Pre Apprenticeship and it shouldn’t affect your ability to claim benefits. This is due to a Pre Apprenticeship being classed as ‘ approved education’.

Pre Apprenticeships are unpaid but they should be viewed as a stepping stone to an Apprenticeship and a better career. We encourage all our placement employers to cover expenses, including food and travel. The learners may also be eligible to receive the college bursary.

Pre Apprenticeships are flexible and tailored to each individual. We assess levels of English, Maths and readiness for work as well as career aspirations. Regular reviews will take place by the college and the employer to monitor progress.
