Who is suitable for a Pre Apprenticeship?
- If you are unemployed ( or work less than 16 hours per week)
- If you have little work experience
- If you are motivated to work
- If you are qualified below level 5
How long do Pre Apprenticeships last?
Between 2 and 12 months.
Does a Pre Apprenticeship cost anything?
There are no costs associated with taking part in a Pre Apprenticeship and it shouldn’t affect your ability to claim benefits. This is due to a Pre Apprenticeship being classed as ‘ approved education’.
Do Pre Apprentices get paid?
Pre Apprenticeships are unpaid but they should be viewed as a stepping stone to an Apprenticeship and a better career. We encourage all our placement employers to cover expenses, including food and travel. The learners may also be eligible to receive the college bursary.
What support is given to Pre Apprentices?
Pre Apprenticeships are flexible and tailored to each individual. We assess levels of English, Maths and readiness for work as well as career aspirations. Regular reviews will take place by the college and the employer to monitor progress.
