This is a 10-week course in Advanced Manufacturing, which is funded in full by the Government, and we are open to new starts until the end of May. This course will be delivered in partnership with HepcoMotion in Tiverton. 

This part time course focuses on developing practical skills for direct application to the workplace and will consist of a two day per week learning experience with our subject specialist lecturers at Exeter College and experience of working within HepcoMotion. As part of your studies, you will produce a body of evidence to demonstrate your skills and progression, you’ll also collate a portfolio in your chosen field to give potential future employers a clear demonstration of your skills and attributes.

This course in Advanced Manufacturing is funded in full by the Government, so there’s nothing holding you back from getting the practical skills you need to get into manufacturing. 

Practical Training 

This course focuses on gaining the skills required to get a job in the manufacturing industry. Whether it’s learning how to programme a CNC system, developing techniques in milling and turning or brushing up on Health & Safety, this course aims to give you the tools to move into a rewarding career in Advanced Manufacturing. 

Job Interview Ready

On successful completion of all the modules on the course, you will be able to attend a job interview for a genuine vacancy in the industry, backed up by the skills you’ve learnt during your studies. Your portfolio, produced as part of the course, will provide employers with evidence of your new skillset. 

About the Course

Advanced Manufacturing 

This 10-week course will get you started in Advanced Manufacturing and covers a variety of highly valued techniques and skills that align to existing recognised industry standards set by employers.  The course will cover: 

  • Awareness of Health and Safety in Manufacturing 
  • Completing milling tasks 
  • Completing turning tasks 
  • Learning how to programme a CNC system 

You will also complete industry experience days at HepcoMotion. 

By the end of the course, you will have produced a portfolio of evidence and will have the opportunity to engage with a progression event with employers and the Exeter College Apprenticeship Team.
