What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

For beginners to advanced. All jewellery techniques covered with design led projects. Course cost includes enough silver for the initial project. Silver for subsequent projects is bought at an extra cost. The price will depend on the amount used.

*Please note this course excludes the week 01/02/18 so it is still a 10 week course. 

What topics will I study?

Beginners will be given a project to follow, which will be a ring set with a single stone. You will then be able to use the skills that you have learnt to produce a piece of your own design.

The skills learnt from the first project will include, using a piercing saw, filing metal, soldering , setting of cabochon stone and polishing.

Further techniques you will be able to try will include, reticulation, granulation , sand casting, enamelling, and various ways to pattern and apply surface textures to metal.

What are the entry requirements?

All abilities are welcome.

The college library and learning resource centre is available for use by students.

All tools required will be provided.

Further courses studying more advanced techniques.
